Note: There is a volcano with a similar name called "Zavaritzky" in the Kamchatka, Russia.

Zavaritzki Volcano is located on Simushir Island, Kurile Islands. The volcano contains three calderas and Lake Biryuzovoe. A lava dome formed between 1916-1931 created a island in the northern part of the lake.

A magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit 101 km SE of the volcano on 15th November 2006.
