Stratovolcano
Sotará volcano is located in SW Colombia, 150 km South of Cali, a city of 2.3 million people. The volcano contains three calderas, 4.5, 2.5, and 1 km in diameter. The volcano shows solfatara and fumarolic activity.
2012 Unrest
Seismic activity increased at Sotara volcano between 8-14 August 2012. Inflation of the volcano coincided with the area of seismicity.
