Stratovolcano
Sorkale volcano is located in northern Ethiopia, 3 km from the border with Eritrea.
It contains a 1 km wide, 300 m deep crater.
The volcano contains weathered lava flows with iron oxidation visible on the north and west flanks as well as crater wall scree slopes.
