Sangangüey volcano is located on the west coast of Mexico, 50 km from the Pacific Ocean. The volcano contains a lava spine at the summit.
Sangangüey is a calc-alkaline volcano built on the southern flank of Las Navajas. Alkaline volcanism has occurred in the area with eruptions of alkali basalt from cinder
cones located along NW-trending fractures.
Fumarolic acticity reported in 2003.
