Submarine volcano
Rumble III Volcano is located 300 km off the north coast of New Zealand. It is situated on the New Zealand - Kermadec arc.
Rumble III volcano erupted sometime between surveys in 2007 and 2009. The summit had reduced from -200 m to -300 m. In 2007 there was an 800 m wide crater at the summit. It has subsequently been filled by products from the eruption.
The sea floor was covered with volcanic boulders, and the summit covered with ash.
