Mt Napier volcano is located between Mt Eccles and the town of Hamilton. The volcano rises 150 m above the surrounding plain. Lava from the volcano covers a large part of the Harman Valley. Byaduk Cavesare located at the start of a 20 km lonf lava flow which extends west down the Harman valley. Mt Napier cinder cone caps a broad lava shield 10 km in diameter.
Mt Napier is one of the potentially active volcanoes on the Australian mainland.
