Mega Basalt Volcano is located on the Kenyan-Ethiopian border, 130 km east of Lake Turkana. The volcanic field consists of about 50 pyroclastic cones and associated lava flows. Gof Dukana basaltic maar is 1.8 km wide, and surrounded by ejecta containing basement igneous and metamorphic rocks.
