Laguna Marinaqui Volcano is located in central Chile, SSE of Copahué volcano and ENE of Tolguaca volcano. It contains two craters 2 km apart, located on a NE-trending fault.

Eruptions in the past 10,000 years have occurred at Cerro Chapulul cinder cone (2143 m), which forms the volcano summit.
