Leonard Range consists of andesite to dacite volcanism loated in the East Mindanao Arc. Lake Leonard is 203 km in diameter. Amacan thermal area is located 5 km SSW of Lake Leonard.
Lake Leonard
The lake is located 60 km northeast of Davao City, Mindanao. The freshwater lake contains fishes such as Anguila pacifica, Clarias batrachus, Glossogobius giurus, Ophicephalus striatus and Tilapia mossambica. The endangered Philippine Crocodile Crocodylus mindorensis is found at the lake during the breeding season in July-September.
Eruptions at Leonard Range
Carbonized wood from pyroclastic deposits on the edge of the caldera have been dated at 1800 yr old.
