Kukak volcano is located in Katmai National Park, west of Hallo Bay. The volcano is covered in ice. The northern summit contains hydrothermal activity. The southern base contains a fumarole field.
Kukak is located in a close chain of four andesite-dacite volcanoes which includes Denison, Steller and Devils Desk.
