Kuchino-shima Volcano is located on a volcanic island is 7 x 3 km in diameter. It contains two andesitic stratovolcanoes aligned NW-SW. Mae-dake lava dome comprises the summit of the island.

Eruptions at Kuchino-shima volcano are possibly phreatic.
