Kolbeinsey Ridge Volcano is located 24 km NW of Grímsey, an Island off the north coast of Iceland. 

2012 Earthquake Swarm
In October 2012 a sesimic swarm occurred on the Kolbeinsey Ridge, about 20 km off the north coast of Iceland.

1999 Eruption
The eruption of Kolbeinsey Ridge was identified on seismographs by an earthquake swarm 180 km N of Grimsey.
