Stratovolcano
Ipala Volcano is located in SE Guatemala. The summit contains a 1 km wide crater. Monte Rico is a cone located on the southern flank.
The most recent eruptions were produced along a 17 km long NNE-SSW fissure that produced a line of cinder cones and associated basaltic lava flows covering 20 sq km.
