It is possible for volcanoes next to each other to erupt at the same time. Volcanoes are related in a geological sense, because they are caused by regional tectonic movements.
In July and August 2008, three closely spaced volcanoes erupted simultaneously in Alaksa (Kasatochi, Okmok and Cleveland).
