Conchagua Volcano is located on western side of the Gulf of Fonseca, in southeast El Salvador. The volcano is elongated NW-SW.

Cerro del Ocote forms the 1225 m high summit of Conchagua volcano. Cerro de La Bandera is ENE of the summit and has erupted more recently. The volcano is old and deeply eroded. Fumarolic activity is present at the volcano.
