Cleft Segment is located about 500 km west of the central Oregon coast. It is the southernmost of the Juan de Fuca Ridge volcanoes.

Eruption of Cleft Segment
Pillow lava was erupted along a 17 km long fissure between 1981 and 1987. Eruptions were caused by a rifting episode similar to Iceland volcanoes.
