Chiliques Volcano is located in northern Chile. The volcano consists of a symmetrical cone rising 1000 m from the surrounding land.

Chiliques contains a 500 m wide crater and lava flows extending 7 km north to Laguna Lejía.

2002 Eruption
On January 6, 2002 night time thermal infrared image from Aster satellite found a hot spot in the summit crater, as well as several others along the upper flanks of the volcano's edifice, indicating new volcanic activity.
Previous eruptions of Chiliques volcano were 10,000 years ago!
