Calayo (Musuan) volcano is located near the Pulangi River at the western base of Mt Tangkulan (1678 m). The volcano consists of a grass covered lava dome built from andesite and dacite.
1976 Seismicity
An earthquake swarm occurred near Calayo (Musuan) volcano in 1976.
1886-87 Eruption
A phreatic eruption occurred in 1886 which was reported to have "burned everything around it".
