Volcanic field
Alligator Lake is located in southern Yukon, Canada. It is located at the northern extremity of the Stikine volcanic belt, 30 km southwest of Whitehorse. The volcano consists of two cinder cones which cap a small basaltic shield volcano. The longest lava flow extends 6 km NE from a well preserved cinder cone.
Alligator Lake volcano has been eroded by glaciers on the
lower flanks, but the upper part is well-preserved.
