Tvashtar Paterae is a volcanic region located on Io, the innermost of the four Galilean moons of Jupiter.
Tvashtar is the Hindu god of blacksmiths who made divine implements.

In 1999 the Galileo Jupiter orbiter and earth-based observations were made of eruptions.
In 2000 Cassini spacecraft imaged a plume at the volcano.
The Keck telescope in Hawaii showed heat radiation from the volcano in 2006.
The Hubble telescope imaged a Tvashtar plume in ultraviolet in February 2007.
The New Horizons probe on its way to Pluto photographed Tvashtar Volcano on 28th February 2007.
