Tiltmeter - John Seach

A tiltmeter is an instruments which measures angular displacements of the earths surface.
In volcanology it can give an indication of volcano inflation.
On volcanoes with low viscosity magma such as Hawaii and Iceland the tiltmeter may provide immdiate information on the magma injection into the volcanic system. This may provide advance warning of an eruption.
