Earthquake S wave - John Seach

S wave is a secondary seismic wave. The S wave is the most prominant on a seismograph.
The wave is a shear elastic wave with transverse motion. It travels more slowly than the P wave
and arrives later on siesmographs. The S wave cannot pass through liquids.
