Isabel Island - John Seach
Santa Isabel is the longest island in the Solomons. I is 200 km long and 30 km wide. A large part of the island is sparcely populated. The island has the most varied geology in the Solomon Islands and contains a large thrust fault. Santa Isabel was first sighted by European explorers in 1568. The island contains deposits of minerals which have not yet been developed.
