Pu'u
ka 'akepa - John Seach
East Rift Zone - Kilauea Volcano
Pu'u ka 'akepa is a littoral cone
which erupted in 1790.
The ratio of lava to water increased
during the eruption, leading to coarser tephra near the summit of the cone.
