Muliwai a Pele is a lava channel located on the top of Holei Pali escarpment.
The lava channel formed in 1974 during the eruption of Maunu Ulu.
Pahoehoe lava flowed 8 km from Mauna Ulu. Aa lava is located on the floor of the channel
at the Chain of Craters Road crossing.
