Pu'u Laimana (Lyman's Hill) is scoria
cone which formed in the 1960 Kapoho eruption.
Lava fountains reached a height of
500 m and were visible from the city of Hilo.
Lava flows from Pu'u Laimana covered
the village of Kapoho, located only 800 m south.
Eruptions from Pu'u Laimana lasted
36 days.
