Pu'u Honua'ula is a 340 year old vegetated spatter cone with a horseshoe-shaped crater open towards the south.
The cone is the largest of 5 vents which were created by the eruption. Pu'u Honua'ula is 50 m high.
The Puna Geothermal Venture Power Plant is located at the foot of Pu'u Honua'ula.
