 Fissure - John Seach

A fissure is a fracture in a volcano or lava dome. It is also a deep straight cleft usually no more than
a few metres wide. Icelandic eruptions are noted for fissure eruptions.
The Laki fissure eruption (Iceland) 1783 resulted in 70 km long lava flows.
